League completes final entry draft
On Wednesday January 17 the East Coast Senior Hockey League completed its third and final draft for this season, 9 players were eligible for selection.

Selecting first overall was the Conception Bay Blues who selected Owen Guibert, a 6'6 defenseman from St. Pierre who has most recently been playing hockey in France. Following that the Northeast Eagles selected Corey Drake, a forward who has spent parts of the last few seasons with the Conception Bay Blues. [Full Story]

Final Weekend of Interlocking Play
The final weekend of interlocking play for this season is on tap for this weekend. On Saturday January 20th the Pugliesvich Southern Shore Breakers travel to Clarenville to play the Caribous at 7:30 PM. In the second half of the series the CBS Blues travel to Clarenville to play the Caribous on Sunday January 21st at 2:00 PM.

Also on tap this weekend all 4 league teams play on Friday January 19th. The St. John’s Caps play host to the Pugliesvich Southern Shore Breakers starting at 7:30 PM at Twin Rinks. [Full Story]

4 Point weekend for Tilly
Steve Tilley started his season with the St. John’s Caps with a great first weekend. On Friday January 5th he scored 2 goals in a close contest against the Conception Bay Blues.He followed up this effort with another 2 goal game against the Pugliesvich Southern Shore Breakers on Saturday January 6th, including the overtime winner, completing his 4 point weekend in style.

Steve last played when he suited up with the Clarenville Caribous of the Central West Senior Hockey League in the 2014/2015 season and is looking forward to once again making a run for the Herder Memorial Championship. [Full Story]

(April 4, 2017) — An exciting season of senior hockey came to a close this past weekend with the Avalon East Senior Hockey League’s own Harbour Grace Ocean Enterprises CeeBee Stars crowned as Herder Memorial Trophy champions.
